We have a lot of projects in the Plant Ecology lab this summer! Here are a few highlights:
  • Liz and Ben have been working with milkweed (Asclepias sp.) insect interactions - monarchs, aphids, and fireflies.
  • Sean has been helping survey the woods at Stony Acres, establishing forest plots for EREN PFPP and creating a guide to the tree species that can be seen at each trait.
  • Wes, Dan, and George have been looking at invasive riparian plants and how they might affect stream macroinvertebrate communities.
  • Nijmih (ESU S.U.R.E. 2019) has been examining differential flood tolerance in several Persicaria and Muhlenbergia species, as well as updating the catalog for the ESU Buser Herbarium.
